Each day combines active cycling on carefully selected routes with plenty of time for breaks, sightseeing, and enjoyment. The route leads us from the Venetian lagoon across karst plateaus and green hinterlands all the way to the Istrian hills and the Adriatic coast. A special emphasis is placed on local cuisine — from prosciutto, cheeses, and truffles to seafood and top-quality wines — because flavors are what make a journey truly memorable.
This trip is designed for travelers who want an active holiday, authentic experiences, and a slow, immersive way of exploring Europe on two wheels, in good company and without rushing. Thanks to e-bikes and well-paced daily stages, the tour is suitable and enjoyable for all cycling levels.

Day 1 – Arrival in Venice
Arrival at Venice airport. Overnight stay at a hotel near the airport (hotel to be confirmed). The day is reserved for arrival, rest, and preparation for the cycling adventure.
Day 2 – Bibione → Grado
Distance: 67 km
Cycling time: approx. 3.5 hours
Stops & sightseeing: approx. 1.5 hours
We begin cycling in Bibione and head toward Grado, passing through Italian seaside villages, partly right along the coast. The route is accompanied by lagoons, a rugged shoreline, and countless small islands that give the region its special charm. Upon arrival in Grado, the cycling day ends. We stay overnight in a small hotel in the city center.
Grado is a picturesque seaside town known for its historic old center, narrow stone streets, charming squares, and long spa tradition. Located by a lagoon, it offers a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere, excellent cuisine, and beautiful seaside promenades.

Day 3 – Cividale del Friuli → Kanal ob Soči
Distance: approx. 65 km Total time with stops: approx. 5–6 hours
We move away from the sea toward the Julian Alps and Kanal ob Soči. The landscape gradually shifts from flat terrain to more mountainous scenery. We cycle through authentic coastal villages, ride along one of Europe’s most beautiful rivers — the Soča River — and cross the border from Italy into Slovenia. The day is marked by mountain roads, river gorges, and a deep connection with nature and local life.
Overnight in a cozy guesthouse in Kanal ob Soči, right beside the turquoise Soča River. If weather permits, we can refresh ourselves with a swim.
Day 4 – Lokavec → Postojna
Distance: approx. 72 km Total time with stops: approx. 5–6 hours
After breakfast by the river, we ride along the dramatic Karst Edge (Kraški rob), one of Slovenia’s most scenic natural balconies. This transition zone between the karst plateau and the coastal region is known for limestone formations, dry stone walls, forests, and wide open views.
We cycle among old pine trees, enjoying their fragrance, through varied terrain that gradually opens toward inland Slovenia. Overnight in Postojna at the Postojna Cave Hotel, located next to the world-famous cave.

Day 5 – Postojna → Duga Uvala
Distance: approx. 66 km Total time with stops: approx. 6 hours
In the morning we visit the famous Postojna Cave, one of the world’s largest karst cave systems, over 24 km long. Visitors experience magnificent stalactites, underground halls, and tunnels, part of the tour by cave train. The cave is also home to the mysterious olm.
After the visit, we head back toward the sea, crossing from Slovenia into Croatia and descending through the rolling Istrian landscape to Duga Uvala. Duga Uvala is a peaceful bay in southern Istria, known for pine forests, natural surroundings, and crystal-clear sea — perfect for relaxation.
Day 6 – Rest Day (Duga Uvala)
A full rest day for swimming, seaside walks, or optional exploration of nearby Istrian villages and local taverns.

Day 7 – Pula → Vrsar
Distance: approx. 65 km Total time with stops: approx. 6 hours
We begin with a guided visit of Pula, known for its Roman Arena — one of the best-preserved amphitheaters in the world — along with temples and a vibrant old town. We then cycle north along the rugged Istrian coast with constant sea views.
Midway we stop for an Istrian wine and prosciutto tasting at a local winery. Arrival and overnight in Vrsar, a charming coastal town with beautiful marina views and excellent cuisine.
Day 8 – Vrsar → Motovun
Distance: approx. 45 km Total time with stops: approx. 5 hours
We head inland toward Motovun, a hilltop town overlooking the Mirna Valley. Known for its medieval streets and panoramic vineyard views, Motovun also hosts a famous film festival.
Most of today’s ride follows the historic Parenzana Trail, a former railway turned cycling path passing tunnels, viaducts, vineyards, and olive groves — one of the most scenic bike routes in Europe.

Day 9 – Motovun → Grožnjan → Strunjan
Distance: approx. 62 km Total time with stops: approx. 6 hours
We continue along the Parenzana, stopping in Grožnjan, the “town of artists,” full of galleries, music, and creative energy.
Crossing back into Slovenia, we reach Strunjan, one of the most preserved natural areas of the Slovenian coast, surrounded by cliffs, salt pans, and a landscape park. The viewpoint over Moon Bay is one of the most beautiful on the coast.
Day 10 – Strunjan → Izola → Koper → Trieste
Distance: approx. 63 km Total time with stops: approx. 7 hours
Following the Parenzana, we pass Slovenia’s charming coastal towns — Izola, Koper, Piran, and Portorož — along the short but diverse 46 km Slovenian coastline.
We cross back into Italy and arrive in Trieste, an elegant port city blending Mediterranean and Central European culture — a fitting finale to our journey.

Day 11 – Trieste → Venice
After breakfast, organized transfer to a hotel near Venice airport. Time to relax, reflect, and conclude the unforgettable BIKE, WINE & PROSCIUTTO adventure.
